Company Profile & Mission Statement

Dean Cook is the owner of GDC Enterprises Inc. and has been in and around the construction business for most of his life. After working with his father and family members in the building and remodeling business for many years, he decided to try other careers. Eventually he returned to carpentry as lead carpenter with the Biltmore Estate. In the eight years he worked at the estate he was involved in many interesting and diverse restoration projects, thus gaining new knowledge and insights in this complex field. Dean left the estate in 2001 to get back to his roots and started his own construction business. He then acquired his General Contractor License along with a Real Estate Brokers License and a Home Inspectors License.

GDC Enterprises Inc. is a small residential construction company and he likes it that way, his philosophy is that in order to remain a company that can not only pay attention to detail but make sure all things throughout the construction and design of the house are done to company and client requirements, his personal time is required.

We all know that there is only so much time in a day. So with the desire to strap on the old nail apron and do a lot of the work himself Dean feels that keeping the company small and limiting the number of projects per year is the only way to do the quality of work he desires and requires for his clients.

Of course there is no such thing as a perfect house or possibly no such thing as a perfect home but the only way to come close to either is with time, desire and effort. It may be possible to put together a quality house with hundreds of people and months of planning in seven days for a television show but in the real world a quality house takes a lot more time and a lot less people. And that means people that you can trust to do the right job, people you have a lasting relationship with.

Here at GDC Enterprises Inc. we have quality employees and sub-contractors that are tried and true. The right group of people that know what is required of the company and know how to work together to get the job done right but not necessarily fast. Because fast is just fast, it has nothing in common with quality.
